History

1949 to 1969

  • 1949
    Higashiyama Electric Cable Co. Ltd., was founded in Wakatake-chou, Chikusaku Nagoya-shi, Aichi-ken, manufacturing paper-coated wiring used in electric fan motors, specialized instrument transformers, and etc.
  • 1959
    Constructed new plant in Ouaza Nakashidami Azakanenawate, Moriyama-ku, Nagoya-shi, Aichi-ken. Began production of paper-coated rectangular copper wire for transformers, electric wiring for Aichi-Emerson Electric motors, insulation materials, and electric leads.
  • 1961
    Became designated manufacturer for Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd.
  • 1963
    Established electrical materials division. Conducted research into polyester film molding. Began supplying our brand-name products to domestic motor manufacturers.

1970 to 1989

  • 1973
    Spun off the electrical materials division from Higashiyama Electric Cable Co., Ltd., and established Higashiyama Electrical Materials Co., Ltd., in Ouaza Nakashidami Azaminamihara, Moriyama-ku, Nagoya-shi, Aichi-ken.
  • 1974
    Began production of TV degaussing coils for Sony Corporation.
  • 1978
    Began production of electromagnetic wave shielding plates, PET film deep drawing, and ultrasonic machining.
  • 1982
    Established a polyester rod case integrated production system using film multicolor printing, ultrasonic welding, and thermoforming techniques.
  • 1985
    Spun off the production and technology division from Higashiyama Electrical Materials Co., Ltd., and established Higashiyama New Technology Co., Ltd. in Ouaza Nakashidami Azakanenawate, Moriyama-ku, Nagoya-shi, Aichi-ken.
  • 1986
    Introduced polyester film offset printing, carrier sheet, anti-static brushes, thermal tape, wrapping tape, and barrier tape products.

1990 to 1999

  • 1991
    Changed company name of Higashiyama Electric Cable Co. Ltd., to E-TECH Co., Ltd. Changed company name of Higashiyama Electrical Materials Co., Ltd. to Higashiyama Film Co., Ltd.
  • 1993
    Reconstructed film cleanroom to enhance the printing department and electronics department.
    Augmented the cutting equipment to enhance the film processing department for printing business.
  • 1995
    Establish Higashiyama Film Singapore. Established Higashiyama Film(shanghai) Co., Ltd. in China.
  • 1996
    Dissolved Higashiyama New Technology.
  • 1997
    Changed company name of E-TECH Co., Ltd. to Higashiyama Film Co., Ltd, and relocated the head office to Takenami-chou, Ena-shi in Gifu-ken. Established the new plant with cleanrooms and coating lines inside the Ena Techno Park in Ena-shi, Gifu-ken.

2000 to the present

  • 2001
    Higashiyama Film Co., Ltd (formerly E-TECH Co., Ltd.) was merged by Higashiyama Film Co., Ltd. (formerly Higashiyama Electrical Materials Co., Ltd.), and moved its head office to Ouaza Nakashidami Azakanenawate, Moriyama-ku, Nagoya-shi, Aichi-ken. Completed Ena 2nd plant. Added No.2 coating machine.
  • 2003
    Sold 100% stock in Higashiyama Film Singapore.
  • 2004
    1st Ena Plant, 2nd Ena Plant and Sales Planning department acquired ISO9001:2000 accreditation for functional plastic film. Added No.3 coating machine and testing machinery. Relocated R&D division to the Open Space Lab at chubu center of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology
  • 2005
    Slitter groups at Nagoya Plant and 2nd Ena Plant acquired ISO9001:2000 accreditation for producing industrial film products (electric insulation and graphic related products) as well as harness products (compressor use). Established Higashiyama (Shanghai) Function Film Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, China to expand printing material business (began operation in July, 2006).
  • 2006
    Acquired lease for 34,157 square meters of land in the Mizunami Creation Park in Mizunami-shi, Gifu-ken. Began construction of Mizunami Plant.
  • 2007
    Completed Mizunami Plant. Installed coating machine No. 4 (Mizunami No. 1). Listed company stock on the JASDAQ Securities Exchange, Inc.
  • 2009
    Celebrated 60th anniversary (in May) since first established.
  • 2010
    Accepted a takeover bid and merged into a subsidiary company of HF Holdings KK (in June, 2010).
